Agreed with your comment. Indeed, our Chief Executive managed the 2008 financial crisis very well. In today’s world, economic cycle has shortened, it is critical for the Government to improve its response and efficiency of policy making. Like 居屋, I still remember back in fall of 2010, I debated with my friends, during a long-hours hiking, my thinking the need to restart 居屋 program. The reason was simple, there was a huge price gap in property market, and the Government, being the regulator and supplier, need to fill the gap that private sector was not supplying… one year later, the program announced yesterday, when the property market topped. Hope the Government has learned the lesson, they might be blamed again if market go down in future.
